Munich Cyber Security Conference 2018 (MCSC)

Klaus Schweinsberg moderated the fourth Munich Cyber Security Conference (MCSC) titled “WannaCry again? Making our businesses digitally great and cyberproof”. Addressing top level managers and executives from the private and public sectors, the MCSC focused on the role and responsibility of decision-makers and provided insight into the future evolution of cyber security policies. Among the speakers and panelists were Sir Julian King, EU Commissioner for Security Union, Robert Joyce, Special Assistant to the President and Cyber Security Coordinator, the White House, Marina Kaljurand, Chairwoman, Global Commission on the Stability of Cyberspace, Mark A. Gould, Federal Reserve Bank and Eugene Kaspersky, Chairman and CEO, Kaspersky Lab. The MCSC organised by Security Network Munich under the auspices of the Munich Security Conference (MSC) and the Bavarian State Government, took take place at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof in Munich on February 15. Martin Herrenknecht Forum 2017

A successful kick-off event took place on July 20th at the Herrenknecht Academy in Schwanau. Many prominent speakers focused on the topic of Leadership and honoured the entrepreneur Martin Herrenknecht. Among the speakers were former German Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schröder, EU Commissioner Günther Oettinger and Dr. Rüdiger Grube, former CEO of Deutsche Bahn. European Excellence Summit

At the invitation of the European Cultural and Creative Industries Alliance (ECCIA), 80 presidents and CEOs from the companies members of the ECCIA  gathered in Berlin on 29 and 30 June 2017 for the European Excellence Summit. Together with EU officials the ECCIA discussed the specificities of the European High-end sector and important challenges. Among the speakers were Alexander Graf Lambsdorff, Vice-president of the European Parliament, Elzbieta Bienkowska, EU Commissioner for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs as well as MEP Christian Ehler. Munich Security Conference 2017

At this year’s Munich Security Conference (MSC) Klaus Schweinsberg moderated again the discussion of a side event with high ranking representatives from economy and politics, including Bill Gates (photo), Co-Chair Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Peter Thiel, Founder Thiel Capital and paypal, and Peter Maurer, president of the international committee of the red cross. Together with Professor Marco Gercke, Director of the Cybercrime Research Institute, he also presented a cybercrime simulation exclusively designed for decision makers from governments. The simulation included some of the most recent cyber attacks on states aimed at its elections and offered a view of the current risks and opportunities for action in the field of cybercrime.
