Symposium: “A Foundation as a Corporate Model for the Future: Opportunities and Risks”

In June Klaus Schweinsberg was invited to the Symposium on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the Carl-Zeiss Foundation. Together with Prof. Dr. h. c. Ludwig Georg Braun, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of B. Braun Melsungen AG, Prof. Dr. jur. Stefan J. Geibel, Institute for German and European Corporate and Commercial Law, University of Heidelberg, Dr. Frank Heinricht, president and CEO, SCHOTT AG and Prof. Dr. Klaus Schweinsberg engaged in a discussion entitled „Corporate-Governance-Structures in interaction between companies and foundations“ . The event was hosted by the Carl-Zeiss Foundation in cooperation with Carl Zeiss AG, Schott AG and the F.A.Z. Institute.

24 Hours – Today. Tonight. Tomorrow.

For the fifth time international Top-Managers gathered at the “24 Hours”-Event at the invitation of Telekom CEO Timotheus Höttges. The guests and participants included General Keith B. Alexander (picture), the former Director of the National Security Agency (NSA) , Joi Ito, Director MIT Media Lab and Daniel Ek, CEO of Spotify. Klaus Schweinsberg facilitated the event.

Exclusive Tutorial 2014

The fourth Exclusive Tutorial (Privatissimum) for (young) Boards of Directors and Boards of Advisers took place in June at Castle Ehreshoven close to Cologne. Speaker of the two-day intensive seminar included Dr. Hans Michael Gaul, member of the Siemens AG advisory board, the former  Chairman of the Supervisory Board of BP Europa SE, Wilhelm Bonse-Geuking, as well as Professor Dr. Peter May, Chair of the German Commission Governance Code for family owned businesses.

International Utility and Energy Conference (IUEC)

Klaus Schweinsberg was keynote speaker at Accenture’s International Utilities and Energy Conference (IUEC) taking place in April 2014 in Berlin. The annual, two-day event is dedicated to examining topics of global interest to international senior leadership executives in the electricity, natural gas, and water industries. In his speech titled ‘Current Trends: A View on the World’s Economic Environment’ Klaus Schweinsberg shared his ideas on how to spur economic growth and establish more international cooperation in challenging times.

Cyber Security Summit 2013

The second Cyber Security Summit on 11 November 2013 where 130 top managers from mayor German corporations and leading politicians from Germany, Austria and Switzerland gathered was partnered by the Centre of Strategy and High Leadership. Among the speakers and panellists were EU Commissioner Neelie Kroes, the former Prime Minister of Israel Ehud Barak (picture), Germany’s Federal Minister of Justice, Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger, Howard A. Schmidt, the former cyber security adviser to U.S. President Barack Obama, Johanna Mikl-Leitner, the Austrian Federal Minister for the Interior, the Deputy General Secretary of the OECD, Yves Leterme and Telekom-CEO René Obermann. Professor Schweinsberg chaired the conference.
